It was very difficult to find a builder capable and interested in our project as it was bespoke, replacing old outbuildings which retained old walls etc, into a new timber construction. Leigh was very responsive and came back quickly and in detail, so despite the fact he is from the other end of the country, we appointed him. Onsite his team were very responsive, clean and trustworthy and always asked what we needed and did not leave until it was done correctly. We found their pricing very acceptable for the nature of the work which was completed on time. I have no hesitation in recommending Shepherds Construction.

Having decided to retire to France my wife and I spent 2 years searching for a suitable property with no success, so we decided to purchase a plot of land with magnificent views over the Pyrenees and design and construct our future home.
After a number of problems with different as the french call them artisans we were very lucky to have a team of English Timber Frame erectors arrive and the rest is history we have finished up with a magnificent building and I cannot give praise enough for Leigh Shepherd and his team who worked through all weathers to make the building weatherproof and at the same time allowing us to spend our first Christmas in the comfort of this beautiful house.

Over the past 15 years Shepherds Construction have constructed for us 6 large blocks of flats and over 20 individual houses in the Newcastle area.
Prior to working with Shepherds Joinery we had worked with a few other Timber Frame Companies who supplied and fitted Panel Kit Buildings, but after experiencing Leigh and his teams constructing Stick Built on site we wouldn’t choose any other way in the future, for quality, cost, speed and efficiency.The team at Shepherds Joinery are a dying breed..conscientious, hard working, tidy and extremely good at what they do. Leigh Shepherd and his team are as good as it gets. Our first project with shepherds joinery was to construct a one bedroom timber frame guest house with double garage below. It took them less than two weeks to get it ready for roof tiles and final fittings. It was a sight for saw eyes to watch it go up so quickly and so beautifully.
We then got Leigh back to transform our existing brick built 1950’s chalet style house into a modern new England timber clad mansion.
The results are stunning and we could not recommend Leigh higher enough.
He cared about every detail, and he would have sleepless nights worrying about aspects of the build, which allowed us not to worry ever. He’s charming quick and quite simply brilliant. Oh and he cannot beaten on price.
He will also be a friend for life now, and I’m not sure many people can say that about their builder.
